Synchronized Skating Teams


 

Jenny DeSimone – Director

Jenny DeSimone is an International and National Synchronized Skating Coach. Prior to joining DC EDGE in 2008, she coached with the Evolution and Gems on Ice Synchronized Skating Programs in Michigan, coaching beginner – senior level teams. Her teams have earned numerous National and Sectional medals across all divisions. Jenny previously worked with the Ice Force One (now DC EDGE) and Capitol Steps Synchronized Skating teams in the Washington, DC area. Jenny holds her Senior PSA Synchronized Team Rating and has a Level IV Ranking.In addition to coaching, she works in Development and Corporate Relations for an association in Arlington. Jenny graduated from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing.

Emily Mayer – Coach

Emily Mayer has been skating with and coaching with DC EDGE (formerly Ice Force One) for six years. She also coached and skated with the Pentagon Adult team for the 2007-2008 season.  Emily is the Skating Director at Fort Dupont Ice Arena in Washington DC where she runs a non-profit community skating program that allows thousands of at-risk children to experience the joy of skating every year.  Emily has a Certified Team Rating from the Professional Skaters Association.  She has a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan.


Lyn Witt – Coach

Lyn Linke Witt has skated with DC EDGE (formerly Ice Force One) for two years in the Masters Division, and joined the coaching staff in 2009. In 2006, Lyn helped start a Beginner Synchronized Skating program at the Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland. By 2008, under Lyn's direction, the program had grown from one to three teams, competing regionally. Lyn currently coaches at Cabin John Ice RInk and holds her Registered PSA Freestyle Rating and her Certified PSA Group Rating. She enjoys coaching all ages and levels of skaters. She is a graduate of Elon University and holds a degree in Communications. Lyn is also a mother of three children.

Leticia Moreno – Assistant Coach

After 14 years of competing "synchro," Leticia Moreno returned to the sport as an adult skater in the DC area in 2007 and is a current member of the DC EDGE Adult team. Leticia has been a group and private lesson instructor for 4 years and is a current member of the Professional Skaters Association. Leticia holds a bachelors degree in Music Business Management from Berklee College of Music, and a Masters in Arts Management from George Mason University, where she is currently the Development Manager for the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Leticia is very excited to begin her syncrhonized skating coaching career with DC EDGE and looks forward to sharing her passion for the sport!

Christine Burke– Assistant Coach

Christine Burke has been involved with synchronized skating for over 10 years, as a skater, and more recently, as an assistant coach with Pentagon Intercollegiate team. She continues to skate as a member of the DC EDGE Adult team, and is excited to be joining the coaching staff this season. Christine teaches Learn to Skate group classes and private lessons at the Wheaton Ice Arena, and is a member of the Professional Skaters Association. She graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Criminal Justice, and is currently a Master of Forensic Science Candidate.
