History & Results DC EDGE was formed in the spring of 2008 through the partnership of the Ice Force One Masters and Pentagon Adult teams. It was created with the intent of establishing a comprehensive, competitive synchronized skating program for skaters of all ages and skill levels.
In 2009, DC EDGE expanded from adult only teams to include a beginner program for younger skaters, and in two short years, we have grown from three to eight teams. Our teams have brought home numerous National and Sectional medals, and with dedication, commitment and passion, we continue to strive to become one of the strongest synchro programs in the country. 2010-2011: DC EDGE expanded by leaps and bounds this year! With the addition of Beginner 2, Open Juvenile and Pre-Juvenile lines, we are over 90 skaters strong! The Masters team is “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell”; Adult is taking a trip to the “Wild, Wild, West”; Open Adult is “Down with Love”; Open-Juvenile is taking “Center Stage”; Pre-Juvenile is snapping with “The Addams Family”; Beginner 3 is rocking out with “The Blues Brothers”; Beginner 2 is having an “Enchanted” season, and Beginner 1 is sharing a bit of “Magic” with us all. GO DC EDGE!
2009-2010: DC EDGE has grown! The 2009-2010 season brought two new teams – Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 – and another strong year! The Masters team skated to a sassy collection of songs by Aretha Franklin, Adult is rocked out to Jimi Hendrix, and Open Adult took a trip to Broadway with their performance to Jersey Boys. Beginner 1 skated to a beach theme, and Beginner 2 had a “Perfect Day.” It was a wonderful season!
2008-2009: The 2008-2009 season was a strong one for DC EDGE! The Adult team, showing tremendous improvement from previous years, skated to a fun medley of songs from the movie “Center Stage.” The Masters team rocked out to a collection of songs by Van Halen. In their debut season, the Open Adult team performed to songs by Ray Charles.
