Our mission is to guide, train, and empower our athletes to excel on and off the ice with integrity and perseverance in all that we do. We strive to create a positive, supportive, and inspiring culture for and with our athletes, coaches, and parents. We encourage our athletes to maintain the highest commitment to, and respect for, their teammates and community.

Our organization is a community of athletes, coaches, parents and family members. We value our relationships with one another and the broader metro DC community.

We prioritize respect both within our program, and with the greater community of synchronized skating, as well as the metropolitan DC area.

Everyone involved makes a commitment to the sport, and we will ask all parties to make a commitment to the development of our athletes as strong competitors and good people.

We pride ourselves on bringing something new to the ice, and our coaching staff will continue to strive for creative, engaging choreography, training methods and ideas for their teams.
Our History
DC EDGE was formed in the spring of 2008 through the partnership of the Ice Force One Masters and Pentagon Adult teams. It was created with the intent of establishing a comprehensive, competitive synchronized skating program for skaters of all ages and skill levels. In 2009, DC EDGE expanded from adult only teams to include a beginner program for younger skaters, and in three short years, managed to grow from three to eleven teams.
In the spring of 2014, DC EDGE and The Capitol Steps Synchronized Skating programs joined forces to strengthen DC area synchro. Our mission is to cultivate strong developmental programs in both Virginia and Maryland feeding into nationally competitive qualifying level teams. In our first season (2015), we succeeded in qualifying five teams to US Nationals and won six Eastern Championship titles. In 2019, our junior team was named to Team USA and in their first international competition, they won an award for the most entertaining performance.
DC EDGE currently fields 14 teams across the exhibition, Aspire 1-4, preliminary, pre-juvenile, juvenile, open juvenile, intermediate, junior, masters, and adult divisions. Our teams have brought home numerous National and Sectional medals, including thirteen National Championships. In 2020, our junior coaches were awarded the EDI award from the Professional Skater’s Association for the best performance during the US Synchronized Skating Championships. With dedication, commitment and passion, we continue to strive to become one of the strongest synchro programs in the country.
