Christine Burke has been with DC EDGE as a skater since it's inception in 2008 and involved with synchronized skating for over 20 years. She continues to skate as a member of the DC EDGE Adult and Masters team, and joined the coaching staff in 2009. Christine teaches Learn to Skate group classes and private lessons at the Wheaton and Cabin John Ice Arenas, and holds her Registered PSA Synchro and Moves in the Field Ratings. She graduated from George Washington University with a Masters degree in Forensic Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Libby Rhoads joined DC EDGE as a skater on the Adult team in 2009, and joined the coaching staff in 2010. Through her time with Miami University Varsity Synchronized Skating she was a US National and International competitor in synchronized skating, a member of Team USA and a member of the 2001 World Team. She served as Director of Skating for Goggin Ice Center in Oxford, OH from 2002-2007 and was the head coach of the Oxford Ice Crystals Synchronized Skating Teams from 2004-2007. More recently, she has served as a coach and consultant with the Capitol Steps Synchronized Skating Teams. Libby is PSA Master Rated in Team, Certified Rated in Group and Registered Rated in Moves in the Field. She is a Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field and Dance. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed in Curriculum & Teacher Leadership from Miami University and a M.A.T. in Museum Education from George Washington University.
Susan Petruccelli has been a coach, choreographer, and co-director for the Capitol Steps for 19 years. She has coached many levels from Open Juvenile through Junior, with a focus on IJS teams and choreography, and has consulted for teams at all levels. Susan has been involved with synchronized skating for over 30 years. As a competitor Susan competed at both the Sectional and National level and was a Sectional Junior Gold Medalist and National Junior Silver Medalist with the Hot Fudge Sundaes. She is a Gold Medalist in both USFS Dance and CFSA (Canadian) Dance. She has coached dance, moves in the field, and freestyle for 12 years. Susan is a Category A compliant coach, and member of PSA and USFS. Susan holds a BFA in Graphic Design and MFA in Visual Communications. She is a Graphic Designer for the PRD Group, a museum planning and design firm in Chantilly and mother of two children.
Nicole Davies has worked with synchronized skating teams from beginner through collegiate in a number of capacities over the years, most recently coaching DC EDGE's intermediate team. As a skater Nicole represented Team USA at the 2012 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Sweden as a member of the Crystallettes, and at the 2007 Junior World Challenge Cup as a member of the Colonials. Throughout her competitive career she represented Team USA in half a dozen international competitions earning two international medals and four National Championship titles. She founded Get It Called, the source for synchro news, and is currently producing a documentary on synchronized skating. Nicole graduated from American University with a master's degree in Media Entrepreneurship and a bachelor's degree in Public Communication and Spanish. She currently works as an Account Manager at Deliver Strategies.
Lyn Linke Witt has skated with the DC EDGE Masters team (formerly Ice Force One) since 2007, and joined the coaching staff in 2009. In 2006, Lyn helped start a Beginner Synchronized Skating program at the Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland. By 2008, under Lyn's direction, the program had grown from one to three teams. Lyn currently coaches at Cabin John Ice Arena and holds her Registered PSA Synchro, Freestyle, and Moves in the Field Ratings, and her Certified Group Rating. She enjoys coaching all ages and levels of skaters. She is a graduate of Elon University and holds a degree in Communications. Lyn is also a mother of three children.
Kristin Huppi has been skating with the DC EDGE Adult team since 2009, and she joined the coaching staff in 2012. She previously coached with Team Ashburn. Kristin teaches Learn to Skate classes and private lessons at the Ashburn Ice House, and is a member of the Professional Skaters Association. She graduated from Duke University with a Doctor in Physical Therapy and from Virginia Tech with a degree in Biology. Kristin is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Elyse Lerman joined DC EDGE as a skater on the Adult team in 2010, and joined the coaching staff in 2011. She has been involved in synchronized skating for almost 20 years. She skated for the Crystallettes, Team Élan, and the University of Michigan. She has coached group classes and private lessons. She was the assistant coach of the University of Michigan Senior and Collegiate teams, and is a member of the Professional Skaters Association. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan. She is currently an elementary school teacher in Virginia.
Shira Selis has been skating on synchronized skating teams for the past 16 years. She joined the coaching staff of DC EDGE in 2011. She previously served as a coach for the Capitol Steps Synchronized Skating Teams, and Chevy Chase Club Synchro. She is currently a coach at Cabin John Ice Arena, and is a member of the Professional Skaters Association. Shira graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelors in Health Behavior Management, and a minor in Figure Skating Science.
Amanda joined the DC EDGE coaching staff in 2014. She previously coached with Sparklers Synchronized Skating Teams in Frederick, Maryland for 8 years. Amanda was the co-founder of the Sparklers, and watched the program grow from one team to six teams. She is a skating professional at Skate Frederick, LLC in Frederick, Maryland where she teaches learn to skate and private lessons. She is a member of the Prefessional Skaters Association holding her basic accredidation. Amanda is the mother to a six year old son.
Caitlin Gallagher has worked with synchronized skating teams from the Pre-Juvenile through Open Collegiate level in a number of capacities over the years. Most recently, she worked with the Oxford Ice Crystals Pre-Juvenile and Miami University Open Collegiate lines. Throughout her 15 years of competing, Caitlin skated with the Ice Diamonds, Cleveland Edges, Ice Reflections, Velocity and on the Miami University Open Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team. She is a Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field and Dance and enjoys coaching all levels. Caitlin graduated from Miami University with degrees in Political Science and Strategic Communication and now works as a DoD communications analyst in Arlington, VA.
Carli Ragoo holds 15 years of synchronized skating experience, and has competed in the Junior, Senior, and Adult divisions. She competed for Team USA for four years including three showings at the World Synchronized Skating Championships. Carli has helped coach the Miami University Open Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team, and the University of Maryland Synchronized Skating Teams in both the Open Collegiate and Collegiate divisions. She earned a B.A. in psychology from Miami University in 2010, and a M.A., C.A.S. in psychology in 2014.
Jessica has been involved in synchronized skating for over 24 years, first as an athlete and then as a coach. Having skated on Team Braemar, Team Elan, and Miami University, Jessica has earned both National and International medals. She has been an instructor at the Miami University synchronized Skating Camps, coached for 4 years at Reston SkateQuest, was assistant coach at Team Braemar, and coach at Chevy Chase Club. Jessica is also a Learn to Skate instructor at Wheaton Ice Arena and Chevy Chase Club, holds a PSA Basic Accreditation, and is a Category A USFS coach. Jessica graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, and recently welcomed her first child in Northern Virginia.
